In 2003 Montana West Economic Development provided a forum where entrepreneurs could pitch their business plans to potential investors. Based on this experience, five local business people (Jon Marchi, Charlie Grenier, Bob Smith, Fred Kellogg, & Liz Marchi) recognized the need for a larger effort. They wanted to provide a structure that would allow investors to collectively review investment opportunities and make investment decisions based on thorough due diligence. With the support of RainSource Capital, they formed Frontier Fund.
The organization was incorporated as an LLC in June of 2006. Today, the organization has grown to 33 accredited investor members and is actively seeking investment opportunities.
